I am a music composer and am constantly surrounded by good sound in my studios because thats my profession. I was never satisfied with home music systems though, and for 15 years didn't own one. Till i chanced upon oceanic sound, and met the very knowledgeable and meticulous Mr Dave. He is not in the business of sound but in the joy of sound, and he wants to spread this joy to his customers. A true audiophile, its a pleasure dealing with Oceanic Sound.

Oceanic is my extended music family whom I have known for more than 15 years. I have yet to come across such a wonderful bunch of music enthusiasts who not only have the technical knowledge about sound but also on the real music front. Be it the 50s, the 60-70s or the modern days. Be it jazz, blues or rock. They know it all.

My experience with Oceanic started when I came to Pune in 2000 and was looking for a good stereo system to invest in - I was looking around the phone book, calling stores - the person who answered the phone talked with me briefly to assess what I was looking for, and simply said "why don't you come over, and we can talk further". And was he right! I bought their Cadence Diva speakers, and I couldn't have been happier, 15 years later. Over the years, they have been fellow music loving friends, first and foremost - whether I go there to discuss and buy music, or seek advice on minor repairs and upgrades to my system. I have known Mr. Mahendra Dave Of Oceanic Sound And Vision for more than 10 years. Mr. Dave is a true music lover and audiophile. I have lived since 2005 in the UK Mr.Dave is very knowledgeable about Music, Hi-Fi and High-End audio and I take his advice when I buy new audio components.

I have a great passion for Western classical music and have a quite reasonable collection (aprx 1500 CDs). My introduction to high-end audio and capacity to distinguish good recordings from bad ones is again due to Mr. Dave. I am therefore grateful to Mr. Dave for helping me to develop this life enriching passion for high-end audio and classical music. Oceanic Sound and Vision guys know it all. They are the doctors & surgeons of sound.

It is rare to see people in audio & music store business that possess in-depth knowledge of various sorts of international music and also have the scientific and technical knowledge of sound & audio equipment, the so called, hardware. Indian manner of speech will describe them as the guys who know music & audio, talk music & audio, walk music & audio, eat music & audio and probably everything else connected with it.

As I have known them for more than 25 years I know that they have another important quality, essential in business arena and that is being trustworthy. They are competent and genuine in what they say & do.

I got to know Mahendra in 2004 at the Pune Jazz club meets. He provided the sound system gratis every meeting along with his engineer Sharma gratis. I was struck by his dedication for the music. Most would give their system on hire gladly. How many will give them free month on month to support a cause ? I then visited his store and was amazed to find a rare choice of music which I had not seen even at Rhythm House ( the greatest in India), Bombay. I met his team and checked out his systems. Over the years he did some great recordings and transpositions for me. It was evident from my experience that like a great Chef knows his craft Mahendra knows sound. His engineer Sharma repaired my old system twice and brought it back to the original performance.

So altogether, I think that this is the establishment to go to when you need anything to do with music and it matters little where you live
